On September 2004, for the first time this band got its realization after several discussions about type, concept, musical area and players. This band was started by Nitya and Ninin (the vocalists), then they recruited Kara, as the guitarist. He adds Jazzy style to this band. On October 2004, they considered to add a steadier basis on the harmonic section. Again, they recruited Dimas, a the bass player. With his funky groove, Summerfling became more dynamic. On December, they felt the importance on paying more attention to the rhythms section, so they added percussionist to the musician list. Ade was the last but not least member of Summerfling, whom expected to add more ‘noise’ to the band.

At first, Summerfling specialized only on standard jazz songs. But during the band’s forming, they gradually broaden their musical area and started to play different type of genres, such as: Samba, Bossa Nova, Hip-hop, some kind of Pop, RnB, Reggae, Afro-Cuban, Soul, Fusion, Acid Jazz and many more. But of course, they play with our own original composition.
